Otherworldly

This started with the dark and somewhat twisted Iron Maiden design by aisling for The Secret Affair. As it happened, it turned out to be a rather good match for one of the new releases from the Plastik—no surprise, really, since dark and twisted is something the Plastik does very well. The final touch was the new shoes from Bushu for My Attic and some bold red makeups by elymode and Adam n Eve.

Two more days and Skin Fair 2015 will open its doors. The second skin that I am featuring is from Imabee, whose new face Imogen will be launched at the fair. In this post you will also see new horns from the Plastik and some adorable fluttery critters from Dysfunctional Designs.

Is there such a thing as too much gold? Probably, but the Midas colour of the Ysandre dress from the Plastik isn’t it. In fact, it just inspired me to don some more gold, in the shape of some of aisling‘s recent releases as well as a pair of sun-golden sandals from Bliensen + MaiTai. Then I headed off to the Forgotten City for a bit of sight-seeing.

I was supposed to be taking a small blogging hiatus around now because I expected to be on vacation. Alas, things got in the way and the blogging interruptions turned out to be less enjoyable. But now I finally managed to set aside some time to dig into my rather large “to blog” pile and this first haul will center on the Birchdale Kitchen from Convair for the current round of FaMESHed.

The latest release from the Plastik is the Malchia Corsets. I knew I had to have one of these once I saw the unique design and the gorgeous patterns and colours. However, that particular cut of a garment is difficult to work with if you’re not using a standard sized shape. But as the very lovely Aikea offered to upload an unrigged version for me, I took the plunge and picked up the striking Rogue version of the corset. As the whole corset is one mesh, I was able to resize different directions independently and this allowed me to work out a good fit. Of course, the trade off is losing the advantages of rigged garments, but sometimes it is necessary for us “shape non conformists” to make such compromises.

The June round of We Love RolePlay is open and it is, as always, a feast of fantasy garments, accessories, skins, hair and so on. So I thought a little feast of my own would be appropriate, courtesy of the Feast gacha from 22769‘s furnishings line, bauwerk, as well as Leto from Nephilaine Protagonist. But of course I am also showing a selection of We Love RolePlay pieces, from brands such as Kahli Designs (their Exalted line), The Forge, Calico and the Plastik. The final touch is the new roleplay applier for the Taliya skin from Adam n Eve.

The colourful Sonika gown from Apsara was a Fantasy Faire release, but since I did not have time to blog it during the Faire week, you’re getting a look at it now instead. We’ve done a little more work on the Dorne-inspired corner of our sim and I thought this dress would fit right in.

The end of the Fantasy Faire is swiftly approaching. If you have yet to experience the magic for yourself, make sure to take the opportunity over its last two days. Between my RL deadlines, I still hope to get a few more posts out, because there are so many lovely things that I want to share with you. Among the lush forests of the Fairylands dwells an elusive creature, whose appearance would seem to suggest that she formed from the very plants and trees of the woodlands. Her skin is painted by nature in hues of green, her curling horns resemble the bark of trees. Pointed ears peek out from tousled red curls and red are also the curious accoutrements she wears, made from flower, vine and leaf. Is she perhaps a forest spirit, guarding the woods from those who might wish them ill? Or is she the last remnant of some long-forgotten race, wandering the woods in hopes of finding one like her?

The Palace of Tears is a stunning build that is part of this years Fantasy Faire. There are no vendors on this sim, but if you do the second part of the hunt, you will find yourself there. And even if you don’t do the hunt, do visit because it is a gorgeous build with some really haunting and creative decorations in the palace gardens.

A new release from the Plastik generally means some sexy, versatile pieces in a wide array of colours and patterns. The latest release features a clothing layer bikini, a sexy dress and the distinctly minimal Raedra skirt which I picked out for this post.

Also featured in this post is my first hair purchase from EMO-tions. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to try them!

When I reviewed Astrali for the Skin Fair (which goes on for just a few days more!), I noted that there was also an in-store release at The Plastik, featuring a massive number of tones, including a wide variety of fantasy tones. I decided to play around with one of these tones for this photo and together with the armour from Bare Rose, we ended up with a lovely desert creature seducing an unsuspecting knight. The photo also uses the Nanda hair from Mina, available at this month’s We Love Role-Play, and the Jewelled Dragon’s Egg Necklace from Maxi Gossamer.

Bare Rose is a true SL institution. When it comes to fantasy outfits for just about any occasion, the store is undoubtedly the one that is likely to have what you need—and that is regardless of whether your avatar is male or female as June Dion almost always offers a variant for both genders. Such as of these fabulous fantasy armours.

In just two days, on the 14th, the Skin Fair opens. It is quite a massive affair this time around, with three whole sims full of skins and with each participating designer offering Skin Fair exclusives that won’t be in their stores until the fair is over. I have decided to start my coverage of the fair with the new Astrali line from The Plastik. The line itself was actually released in the new store today, but you will have to wait until the Skin Fair for 7 of the tones. The Plastik will also be offering a large set of striking eye makeups at the Fair as well as nail polishes for Slink’s hands and feet. But lets dive in and take a look at the lovely Astrali.

In the midst of a steady stream of new releases, the Plastik has moved to a new location, so that is where you will find—among other things—the striking Living Lights Horns. These highly detailed mesh horns have an incredibly range of customisation options, covering all of your…err…horny needs. ;)
